The Akai MPK Mini MK3 is the ideal solution for music production in any environment and works great for producing music on the road.
Black on White
After success as one of the most popular portable keyboard controllers, Akai returns with a special white version of the Akai MPK Mini MK3, featuring a sleek white body trimmed with a black finish and a reverse coloured keyboard. The MPK became a hit due to packing a variety of features within such a small device. The USB powered controller keyboard features 25 mini-keys which have been improved since the original APK Mini, a joystick which functions as a control for the pitch and modulation, 8 solid trigger pads derived from the MPC Renaissance, 8 mini rotatable knobs and adjustable note repeat and arpeggiator functions.
Control
With such a variety of controls, the MPK Mini mk3 is a prime choice for compositions, performance, and recording in both studio and live environments. It features a 4-way directional thumbstick, a new addition to the version of the MPK Mini, which allows for dynamic pitch and modulation control in real time. The 8 velocity sensitive pads, which have been ported from the Akai MPC Renaissance, have pressure sensitive LEDs which light up when pressed. Alongside the pads, the device features 8 low profile Q-Link knobs, to keep the MPK Mini’s frame compact. The MPK Mini features two banks, allowing the number of midi assignable pads and knobs to double for a total of 16.
Creative Features
Akai have packed the MPK Mini with additional features that allow for maximum creativity. Individual buttons for octave control on the keyboard, allowing for fast navigation through up and down through the octaves. The MPK Mini also features an input for a sustain pedal, which could be useful to those trying to achieve realistic piano experience. The built-in arpeggiator and note repeat functions allow for a lot of creativity, with adjustable arpeggiation range, resolution and patterns all being easily manipulated within the keyboard.
Maximum Portability
To ensure that the MPK Mini is as portable as possible, Akai have manufactured the device to work without the need for an external power adapter. The USB powered keyboard controller requires no drivers or additional MIDI cables, allowing for usability with a computer straight out of the box. Hardware/software presets can be stored on one of the four built-in memory banks, ensuring quick set up times between the MPK Mini and a computer.
MIDI Editor Software
The included MPK Mini MIDI Editor software allows for the true potential of the MKP Mini to be unlocked. The software, which grants powerful preset management, lets MPK Mini users customize their hardware and software setup to their liking on either PC or Mac. Create and alter presets for plugins, DAWs, and virtual instruments, and then store them on the MPK Mini, which allows for improved setup times and workflow.
Included Virtual Instruments & Software
Alongside the MPK Mini is a bundle of free production software and virtual instruments, allowing for music composition straight out of the box.
