Native Instruments is excited to announce the release of MIDI templates for the Kontrol S-Series keyboards, available from the 1st August 2024.
With this update, users can create, manage, and switch between templates directly on their keyboard. The standalone mode now offers control over external synthesizers, drum machines, and other MIDI devices, while users can also use a computer to control any DAW or plugins.
Check out this video featuring NI Product Specialist Matt Lara, demonstrating the Kontrol’s MIDI templates with U-D-O's Super 6 Binaural Synthesizer.
Additionally, Kontrol S-Series MK3 users can now export and share their templates or import templates created by others. A dedicated sharing thread in the community forum is available which can be found here.
To update, users must go to Native Access and update the following:
- Hardware Connection Service
- Komplete Kontrol 3
- Kontakt 7
- Firmware
Please ensure that you update all four components for proper functionality. For minimal disruption, we recommend updating in the following order: NI Hardware Connection Service, Kontrol OS firmware, Komplete Kontrol, and then Kontakt.
