The new DDJ-XP2 is a worlds-first from Pioneer DJ, allowing you to utilise this controller with both Rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro.
The Pioneer DDJ-XP2 raises the bar once again by giving you hands-on control of all the new functionality of both Rekordbox and Serato DJ, while still retaining the iconic, sleek finish and impressive build functionality of the previous XP1 model. At the centre of this controller is the 32 velocity-sensitive coloured pads. Built to an incredible standard, with a smooth rubber finish it is from here that you have full control over your various pad modes.
You can use the DDJ XP2 to trigger classic modes and effects such as beat jump, hot cues and slicer all from the pad section. The top section of Pioneer's XP2 Midi Controller is where you will control all your beat and sync information as well as select tracks from your DJ software. If you use this with Serato DJ Pro, the DDJXP2 will let you use specific pad modes with 16 pads per deck. A product breakthrough from Pioneer DJ. Some of these pad modes combine two functionalities at the same time, splitting the 16 pads per deck into 8 per effect. This unlocks untold creative possibilities which will let you add elements unique only to your DJ performances, allowing you to stand out from other DJs.
XP2 also comes with a brilliant new feature for precise, expressive control. The Slide FX function can be utilised on any pad effect from Rekordbox DJ allowing you to add playable dynamics to any sound, just like a real instrument. If you make use of the previously mentioned combined pad modes in Serato, you can use this slide fx function on a combination of effects at the same time. Another great addition of this controller is that it comes with a full copy of Pioneer's Rekordbox DJ and DVS Software, worth a combined value of £239, making this pad controller really great value for money.
If you do decide to use this controller with Rekordbox DJ, you can take full advantage of the transport mode which allows for an even faster workflow. With this function enabled you can use the pads to play, cue and pitch tracks up/down. This is great for you are a turntablist that uses DVS software in a routine and requires quick access to your library of music.
If you're looking to buy a next-gen pad controller to enhance your live performances and DJ sets, then look no further than the Pioneer DDJ-XP2.
