The JBL PRX ONE is a column-style portable PA speaker with an acoustically optimised driver array, digital mixer, pro DSP, Bluetooth® connectivity, and universal app management.
The JBL PRX ONE is a column-style portable PA speaker with an acoustically optimised driver array, digital mixer, pro DSP, Bluetooth® connectivity, and universal app management.
PRX ONE is designed to satisfy the demands of a wide range of portable and fixed applications, offering unrivalled power, acoustic performance, and functionality in a sleek, small device weighing just 56 pounds. Thanks to its custom-engineered 12-tweeter column array with JBL A.I.M. (Array Inumbration Mechanics) acoustic design, 12-inch bass-reflex woofer, and built-in 2,000-watt (peak) Class D amplifier, the system delivers a stunning 130 dB of comprehensive, full-bandwidth coverage with a consistent front-to-back throw.
With PRX ONE's full suite of professional-grade Lexicon and dbx processors and eight customizable presets, performers of any skill level can quickly dial in outstanding sound. Reverb, 8-band EQ, delay, compression, limiting, ducking, echo, sub synth, and dbx DriveRack are among the built-in effects. Inside, AFS Pro Automatic Feedback Suppression is used, and Triple Tier DSP control provides multi-level user experiences dependent on expertise level.
PRX ONE's Soundcraft-designed 7-channel, the dual-mode digital mixer may be programmed to operate either general mix operations or channel-strip capabilities, all controlled through a built-in colour LCD or the new JBL Pro Control universal app, allowing creatives to work quicker and more efficiently.
The PRX ONE's full-colour LCD screen gives you complete control over all operations, and a handy Setup Saver lets you save pictures for later recall. Simple Success dynamic LED metering allows users to quickly and easily check levels as well as professional channel features like mute and clipping.
Copper-capped pole pieces on custom-designed high-frequency transducers minimise inductance for a smoother, more accurate response; transducers have less power compression, allowing for more natural performance without the use of heavy DSP. The woofer's high-frequency performance has been optimised down to 500 Hz, providing for a more realistic, accurate bass sound. Without the use of DSP, the PRX ONE's acoustically optimised woofer offers better performance down to 35 Hz.
From mixing to DSP to Bluetooth features, the new JBL Pro Connect universal app gives you complete control over your PRX ONE. Adjust levels from any location in the room, stream music to numerous speakers, and more; the app and the mixer are always in sync, removing the need for guessing when it comes to levels and settings. Users may use features like speaker grouping, delay tap tempo, and entire speaker captures that are only available in the app.
Brandon Knudsen, who is the JBL Product Manager, Loudspeaker Professional Solutions, says, "Whether you're a singer/songwriter, DJ, corporate presenter, or instructor, sounding great is important." “Acoustic performance was at the top of JBL's agenda when we started out to create a new compact column PA. At the same time, we all recognise that each circumstance is distinct. We've loaded the PRX ONE with a feature set that we think will appeal to a wide spectrum of performers: DJs will like the system's extensive DSP and I/O set, while singer/songwriters will appreciate the ability to drive the system hard and get that deep bass they want. Presenters and instructors will also enjoy the system's small, unobtrusive profile and presets, which will quickly have them sounding their best. No matter where they play, everyone will be ecstatic to leave their outboard gear at home and lessen their load.”
PRX ONE allows artists to expand their system: An XLR Thru output provides real analogue expansion with the ability to time-align multiple speakers with up to 100 ms of delay per speaker, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity allows remote control of up to 10 units via the JBL Pro Connect application. For permanent installations, an extra bracket and adaptor allow the array to be wall or truss mounted independently of the subwoofer. The PRX ONE's computer-modelled ComfortGrip handle and nylon carry pouch make transportation effortless.
PRX ONE's flexible I/O set includes four pro-grade Neutrik XLR Combo jacks, two channels of dedicated phantom power, dedicated Hi-Z input, and two USB 2.0 connections for powering external devices and AKG wireless systems.
Every PRX ONE goes through 100 hours of stress testing to guarantee it works perfectly in real-world situations. The system is encased in a tough casing that's tough enough for the toughest jobs yet subtle enough to blend in with any presenting setting.
