Korg Minilogue Polyphonic Synthesiser

The Minilogue makes use of all analogue circuitry which works to deliver a synth experience unlike any other and offers four-voice polyphony with a true-analogue sound alongside an intuitive interface that has been designed for accessibility and ease of use. Whether you’re performing live on stage or producing tracks in the studio, the Minilogue is the best way for users to explore and implement genuine analogue synthesis in absolutely any situation.

This synthesiser comes equipped with two voltage-controlled oscillators, one voltage controlled filter, two envelope generators, and one voltage controlled amplifier and a single low-frequency oscillator, which are all basic yet essential tools for sound design. The Minilogue’s unique sound shaping abilities lets you finely tune the oscillators harmonics to create the most divine sounds and tracks while a range of powerful modulation sources including cross modulation, oscillator sync, a ring modulator, and a delay with high-pass filter give you the ability to create a rich variety of complex sounds, a real hallmark of an analogue synthesiser.

The Minilogue is equipped with 200 pre-programmed sound presets, merely select a program for instant access to a plethora of great sounds from thick heavy basses, to deep euphoric pads, to bright polyphonic leads and atmospheric sounds. This also means you do not need an extensive knowledge around synthesis to create excellent sounds, you can just choose a sound and tweak it to your heart’s content, if you wish to you can dive deeper into the soul of the Minilogue’s engine with 200 presets slots, 100 of which are editable factory programs while the other 100 serve as blank canvases for you to create your next patch. Each preset can also save a step sequence and delay settings as well as the sound you make.

Selectable voice modes enable you to configure the polyphony voices for your performance, the voices can be set to four note polyphony for chords and pad sounds or can be layered for thick basses and vibrant leads, other modes range from octave shifted basses as well as delicately staggered triggering options. The eight-voice modes include Poly, Duo, Unison, Mono, Chord, Delay, Arp, and Sidechain, all of which offer different tones and textures so you can get creative and experiment with a range of voicing options. A 16 step sequencer with motion sequence recording makes your tracks and performances come to life and provide you with real-time recording and overdubbing capabilities as well as step recording so you can record seamlessly by consecutively specifying notes and is a great way to create phrases and musical riffs.

An OLED display provides you with an oscilloscope that shows you the waveform of your sound as you shape it, this provides you with visual feedback which is both educational and entertaining and is a first for a hardware synthesiser. The unique design looks professional and succinct thanks to the sand-blasted 2mm aluminium front panel, metal shaft potentiometers, solid chassis-mounted metal shaft potentiometers, and rubber-coated knobs give a stand out finish that complements its powerful and highly-dynamic sound creation abilities.
