The Novation 61SL MK3 marks a ground-breaking new addition to the keyboard controller market and will serve as the centre for your music production studio.
The new Novation 61SL MKIII takes things into overdrive compared with the mark two model. These new features are designed specifically to make this controller the central hub of your studio. With incredible software control functionality, you can control various aspects of your DAW without needing to touch the mouse. Additionally, if you are a hardware geek with lots of gear this keyboard controller can offer you a pristine and flexible way to record and process analogue inputs. The 61 SL is a true workhorse controller and will keep you inspired in the studio for longer.
In terms of control functionality, this keyboard boasts many features. The top panel comes with an 8-track polyphonic sequencer and LCD screens which let you see every aspect of what you are controlling. The 16-RGB pads allow you to perform rhythm sections, melodic stabs, or even play chords. The keyboard also comes with a Smart play feature which is a great instructional tool for music producers that lack that classic music theory training or background.
The light guide makes this a fun and intuitive way to learn your keys and scales. The 61SL MK3 comes with two control-voltage pitch, gate, and modulation inputs on the rear - offering incredible routing possibilities for all your beloved hardware instruments. If you are a producer without hardware instruments, then a good selection of software has been included in the box to help you get started. You get Ableton Live Lite (which you can then upgrade to full versions of Ableton from, for cheaper), XLN Addictive Keys, and 4GBs of Loopmasters samples.
Along with other classic keyboard effects like the modulation and pitch wheels, the 61SL MIDI Keyboard Controller comes with 8 continuous rotary knobs and 8 sliders which is where you can use this keyboard to great effect. By attaching a modulation, LFO, or chorus control parameter to one of the knobs you can record automation changes onto your MIDI instrument and add some sauce to certain musical phrases.

Unquantised Recording
In the previous firmware version, we introduced micro-step editing, allowing users to position notes off the grid for subtle timing variations. With unquantised recording, users have the ability to record into these micro steps. This means that the organic, human quality of performances and punched-in beats can be captured in all their wonky glory.
