The Novation Launchpad X comes loaded with brand new features as well as a beautiful new design. Combine these, and you have a MIDI Pad Controller that is designed to offer superior performance. These new features are designed to make your music creation process even more enjoyable.
With velocity-sensitive pads and the note/scale models, you can now play perfect musical phrases with nuanced expression - just like real instruments. Additionally, this controller now comes with USB-C connectivity which means you get super-fast speeds. Perfect for the producer that values a quick workflow.
The Launchpad X is intuitively designed to be easy-to-navigate and serve as an extension of your DAW software. It can work with any DAW; however, where this controller really shines is when integrating with Ableton Live. Switch between drum and notes mode quickly so you can program any percussion or melodic content with speed. The pad also features a collection of performance controls that allow you to tweak sounds as your making them. The capture MIDI records notes that you have pressed recently, so you can never miss an idea. The scale mode means that you will always stay in key.
The Launchpad X MIDI Grid Controller also comes with mixer controls, so you can use this as a hands-on mixing tool. You also get a copy of Ableton Live Lite to get you going, and this also qualifies you to a cheaper upgrade to Ableton Standard or Suite.
The Launchpad X is now fully compatible with Live Loops, the cell-based looping playback and performance feature, thanks to Apple releasing Logic Pro version 10.6. The update provides the ability to trigger cells from the grid, get hands-on with producing and performing, and easily navigate projects. You can record directly to cells in Note and Chord mode and then have further control to solo, mute, record arm or stop tracks. Clearing and duplicating cells and quantising of the notes recorded into a cell are effortlessly controlled through dedicated buttons.
