Pioneer DJ DJM-V10-LF 6-Channel Professional Club DJ Mixer with Long Faders

The Pioneer DJM-V10-LF is a 6-channel mixer that mirrors the same impressive high-quality specifications and features as the DJM-V10 except for introducing long (60mm) channel faders with optimised curves. Additionally, there is a new custom-designed preset which allows for smooth performance and precise mixes.

It may or may not have gone unnoticed that there appears to be a missing crossfader. It is believed that not all DJs use the crossfader and opt for the channel faders instead to give them additional control. The crossfader may have been removed, but in its place, the shaft slide faders have been extended from 45mm to 60mm. The new faders have been optimised, thanks to the new curve setting, and suitably weighted to accommodate the extra length. The curve preset features allow slight adjustments to be made to the volume of each channel and have precise control over the sound output.

With six channels, you can’t question the flexibility of the mixer’s setup. You can choose any device or unit including CDJS, turntables, synths, drum machines and samplers, and to make things extra easy the analogue input terminals line up with each of the channels on the top panel making cable connection a breeze.

The sound delivered from the DJMV10LF is warm and natural sounding, and the detail is crystal clear. The mixer produces fantastic mid and high frequencies which compliment the full low-end frequency thanks to the exceptional quality 96 kHz/64-bit mixing, a dithering process with the DSP, 32-bit A/D and D/A converters and a low-jitter clock circuit. Fine-tuning your mix can be achieved through the 4-band EQ. Each band consists of frequencies, curves, boost and cut amounts that have all be primarily designed to offer you ultimate flexibility over your mix. The V10-LF features a custom filter that incorporates a dedicated knob on each of the channels that allow for minor and subtle adjustments to be made.

There are four in-built FX, Short Delay, Long Delay, Dub Echo and Reverb, where the Size/Feedback, Tone, Time or Master Mix Level can be tweaked using the parameter knobs. Audio can be sent to any of these FX or up to two external units, e.g. FX units, guitar pedals or more. You have a choice as to where to return the audio; it could be to an empty channel ready for further modifications or straight into a mix.

The 3-band master isolator on the V10LF controls the tone of the whole mix with ease. It features a range of parameters. Custom boost/cut curves and adjustments to the crossover frequencies. On each channel, you will find a compressor knob that boosts the audio in real-time, making even the weaker tracks stronger. Finally, the mixer contains 14 in-built Beat FX, including the latest one Shimmer, which is a reverb with a harmonic twist, creating a shimmering feel which adds depth along with harmony to the sound.

There are numerous input and output connections on the Pioneer V10-LF, including the ability to connect two headphones simultaneously, allowing you to connect your headset alongside a fellow DJ. Each of the headphone outputs features a level adjustment knob and Cue/Master Mix Control. It even includes booth EQ where the sound from the monitor speakers can be adjusted to prevent ear fatigue during a long set.

There is massive support for external devices, apps and services including DJ software control for rekordbox, TRAKTOR PRO 3 and Serato DJ Pro, use of MULTI I/O to allow control via compatible smartphone apps, ShowKontrol that supports the extended PRO DJ Link by allowing control over certain features and settings through its software, and finally, provides recording and archiving of mixes, uploading sounds to cloud services and live-streaming your sets through the DJM-REC app for iOS devices.
