Transparent, No distortion Audio

Experience the advanced Class D amplifier, capable of authentic sound and little to no distortion from its wide-bandwidth audio reproduction at 96 kHz sampling DSP. The VM-70 monitor can produce a consistently high SPL output, higher than the previous models. The Class D amps used in the VM Series are much more efficient than previous, meaning very little energy is wasted, therefore less risk of overheating, and allows peak output to be maintained throughout extended listening sessions even though the AB amplifiers are rated to have higher output.

Aramid Fibre Cone

Carefully selected for their intrinsic properties, Pioneer has constructed the VM-70 using choice materials that provide the best sound quality and durability. Using it as a source of inspiration, Pioneer considered their S-DJX series during the VM-Series development and decided to use the woofer cone made from Aramid Fibre to support the monitor's accuracy and tonal characteristics.

The in-built constant directivity horn can produce a consistent listening experience anywhere in the room, highlighting the mid and low frequencies to boost sound quality. The flat playback frequency crosses over to the tweeter at specific frequencies, creating a smoother, more natural sound. The VM-70 monitor has been meticulously designed to produce authentic reproduction of the input signal, enabling accurate monitoring and production. Match the speakers' sound to the environment you are listening in; the user can adjust the DSP settings to fine-tune the speaker's setup to achieve the best possible sound and reduce any unwanted distortion caused by the acoustics of the room.

EQ Your Sound

The VM-70 features two adjustable EQ knobs on the back of the monitor, providing quick access to the Low and High EQ, allowing quick adjustments to be made to the overall sound during operation. Each EQ has 4 different positions that change the speaker's settings and sound, totalling 16 different combinations to choose between. Perfect for adapting to your current needs, you are able to remove the bass and low frequencies from the sound, ideal for night-time use or for avoiding noise conscious housemates and neighbours.

Vortex Bass Accelerator

The monitor's intuitive design uses special Vortex Bass Accelerator ports that work to ensure the bass and low-end frequencies are tight and without distortion or noise that will impact quality. The vents and ports allow the speaker's air to be channelled through them, keeping low frequencies and representing the input accurately.

User DSP Settings

Freedom of control comes with the VM-70, adjusts settings on the fly to meet your location's needs and intended use to create the best possible sound. Choose from 4 preset DSP settings suited for different uses and setups.

L1 – reduces the bass and low-end frequency, ideal for night time listening or reducing vibrations that may travel through the walls or furniture. 6dB HPF (High Pass Filter) is applied at 63Hz to remove sub frequencies to produce a clear and tight sound image.

L2 - recommended for accurate studio monitoring, designed to work well in acoustically designed environments. Creates a flat frequency response that delivers authentic sound true to the input signal.

L3 - ideal for larger rooms and environments that require an added level of sound, the boosted bass and low-ends kick in at 50Hz using a Bell EQ to amplify the sound by 2.5 dB.

L4 - delivers powerful bass and low frequencies, similar to the sound of nightclubs and events. The 5dB of boost kicks in at 50Hz using a bell EQ, with 2dB of boost at 200Hz to create intense bass and prominent low frequencies.
