A Creative Sampler: Mimic
If you are a current beatmaker or producer, you will love Mimic, a new and entertaining sampler. Easily trigger, chop, and manipulate any audio source in real time.
Changes to Combinator
You can create your own machine by combining various components, such as devices, selecting a desired panel size, selecting a desired backdrop colour, creating a personalised background, and deciding on the ideal set of controls.
Graphics with High-Resolution Quality
Zoom in and out of Reason's user interface to fit your workflow, and nerd out over the ultra-realistic equipment in the Rack.

Reason 12 - Virtual Studio Rack

Reason 13 Released June 2024
Reason 13 focuses on your workflow. It features an improved sequencer, a brand-new browser, five new devices, and more sounds. Every purchase or upgrade to Reason 12 includes a free upgrade to Reason 13, available on 18th June 2024. It will be available for purchase and download on June 18, 2024.
Reason's sequencer and interface have been updated to facilitate productivity and navigation. Thanks to the redesigned Edit Area, better zooming, and workflow tools, making music in Reason has never been faster.
All patches, samples, and loops may now be found in one place: the new Browser. Tags and categories make it easy to locate what you are looking for, making exploring almost 20 years of sound design enjoyable, including over 1000 brand-new patches, samples, and loops.
Reason 13 also features five new Rack devices. The Polytone Dual-Layer Synthesiser is a new synth that draws inspiration from the immediacy of hardware classics while adding a Reason touch. It is ideal for heavy analogue sounds and instantly playable patches. Ripley Space Delay is a delay and reverb with distinct sound shaping and deep modulation—it's a delay with personality. Finally, the three new Tool devices make typical Rack operations more accessible than ever, including sidechaining, stereo widening, and gain staging and panning.
New Software Update for Reason 12 Version 12.5 brings VST3 Support
A new software update for Reason 12, version 12.5, now offers VST3 support. This means that all Reason users are able to access and use any VST3 instrument, effect or utility plugin directly from the standalone Reason 12 music-making software. This update is available for both Mac and Windows users. Additionally, the update has increased the number of audio inputs, outputs and automatable parameters available for any VST hosted within Reason. Version 12.5 also includes updates, enhancements and bug fixes.
Reason 12.5 is available as a free download immediately for all Reason 12 and Reason+ users.
Music Making Product Manager, Mattias Häggström Gerdt, says “We firmly believe there’s no right way to make music. Musicians and producers mix and match to create their own unique set-up. With VST3 support, music makers can now use thelatest versions of their favorite VST plugins in Reason — just like how music makers in other DAWs can use Reason Rack Plugin as a VST3, AU or AAX.”
