The Sequential Trigon-6 desktop module has the same huge sound and hands-on control over the timbre shape as the Trigon-6 keyboard. It has the same high-quality digital effects and the identical pure analogue input path with separate oscillators and filters. It also has an easy-to-use layout with large buttons and switches that make it quick and easy to generate new sounds.
The Sequential Trigon-6 module sounds vast, comparable to the keyboard, as it is the same six-voice polyphonic instrument, just smaller in form. If you want even more polyphony, you can use the poly chain tool to connect any two Trigon-6s to make a beautiful twelve-voice synth.
The desktop version is a small, portable instrument that can still make all the sounds its powerful keyboard brother can make. It has three oscillators per voice and a ladder filter that has been updated with a separate drive and feedback control. This makes it easy to go from smooth and silky to loud and crunchy with the turn of a knob. Because of this, Trigon-6 is the right instrument to use in the studio or on stage.
The desktop module is not only a smaller form of the Trigon-6 keyboard. It's a powerful and expressive instrument that makes its own warm, natural analogue sound.
Sequential Trigon-6 Overview
The Trigon-6 desktop module is based on some of the most famous analogue synths ever made. It has a standard three-oscillator synth design with an improved ladder filter. The three oscillators make a sound source that is rich and flexible, with patterns like triangles, saws, and pulses whose width can be changed. Mix and match the oscillators to make complicated harmonies, detune them for thick chorusing effects, or sync oscillator 2 for hard-edged growls.
The ladder filter, on the other hand, is the Trigon-6's heart and soul. It has a smooth and musical response and can change your sound from smooth and mellow to mangled and aggressive. The filter has a 2/4-pole switchable slope and an adjustable resonance that can add a unique peak or self-oscillate for roaring leads and sci-fi effects.
Expression
MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) is an extension of MIDI that lets devices compatible with MPE-enabled synths handle multiple parameters of each note. This enables each note to have its own pitch bend, filter cutoff, amplitude, and other modulations, which makes instrumental acts more expressive. You will be able to bend, slide, tremble, swell, and change the sounds you make in ways that have never been done before. Trigon-6 is a revolutionary polyphonic analogue synth that lets you play every detail of your music with MPE. It lets you hear the classic 3-oscillator ladder filter sound like never before.
The Trigon-6 synthesiser is an excellent example of Dave Smith's influence and ability to develop new ideas. It has all Sequential's well-known Prophet-6, and OB-6 synths, featuring 6-voice harmony, unmatched playability, and easy programming. It also has a global LFO, a multiple-step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and a dual effect processor with chorus, ring modulation, phaser, flanger, reverb and delay effects.
Strong and Familiar Sound
The Trigon-6 is Sequential's polyphonic take on the famous 3-oscillator-plus-ladder-filter analogue sound that marked the start of the synth era. It's a sound that blends different genres and styles, and Sequential's own modern stamp has made it even more effective and unique.
Brand-New Design for the Filter and Oscillator
At the heart of the Sequential Trigon-6 sound are three voltage-controlled oscillators with triangle, saw, and pulse waves. Additionally, there is an improved version of the ladder filter that Sequential made for its Pro 3 mono synth. The switchable 2-pole/4-pole resonant filter's drive and feedback settings make it easy to go from smooth and silky to loud and crunchy with just a turn of a knob.
Putting the Pieces Together
The Trigon-6 has all of Sequential's "must-have" sound-shaping tools, like envelopes that respond quickly, an LFO that can be synced and has multiple waveforms and destinations, an arpeggiator and a polyphonic step sequencer. The best part is that the Trigon-6's front panel, which has a knob for each function, puts these settings right where you can reach them. And the 500 factory presets and 500 user presets give you a wide range of basses, leads, and pads to get any project off the ground.
Dual Effects
The studio-quality reverbs, delays (both standard and BBD), flanger, chorus, phaser, and ring modulator can be found in the dual effects area. The separate stereo distortion effect makes the music more aggressive and can be turned on and off at will.
Vintage Knob
The Vintage Knob adds different tuning and component behaviour from voice to voice, giving an already classic synth even more classic organic warmth. Vintage response can be changed from subtle to extreme to make it sound like a perfectly stable current instrument or a relic from a long time ago.
Powerful and Transportable
With all that the Trigon-6 can do, it's hard to believe that it fits into a desktop module that's light enough to carry in a bag.
