Mackie DRM12A Professional Active 12-Inch Array Loudspeaker

The Mackie DRM12A is a professional powered 12-inch loudspeaker that features a curved construction allowing the speaker to be configured in an array set up. The speaker is fitted with three 1-inch titanium high-frequency compression drivers as well as a 12-inch woofer that offers a clear sound across the whole frequency spectrum. A class-leading, super-efficient Class-D amplifier comes equipped with next-generation protection alongside Power Factor Correction technology that delivers the high performance you need.

An Advanced Impulse Digital Signal Processor works to acoustically correct and time-align your sound thanks to the quality FIR filters that offer a crystal clear, punchy sound that usually is only reserved for large touring systems. The DRM Control Dashboard provides you with a high-contrast, colour display on the rear panel and lets you quickly and easily set up, perfect for when set up time is limited. Custom built transducers are housed inside of a touring-grade plywood cabinet which is designed to deliver a consistent performance even during the most demanding of applications.

Mackie’s proprietary Advanced Impulse Digital Signal Processor takes speaker processing to the next level and works to remove all anomalies that can cause your speaker’s low-end to sound squelchy or mushy. The DSP effectively makes the drivers invisible and will only output a clean and clear sound across the whole frequency spectrum. The Advanced Impulse intelligently and effectively employs all the benefits of FIR filtering by eliminating unwanted acoustic anomalies throughout the entire dispersion zone as well as the frequency range and time domain. The DRM12A eliminates the anomalies by measuring the negative frequency response and time domain that each transducer and horn produces and reverses/corrects the defects before the signal reaches the drivers. The result is a perfectly clear, smooth sound throughout the entire time, space, and response domains.

The DRM Control Dashboard provides you with a large, super-bright, full-colour display that is easily readable and gives you unmatched visual feedback regarding levels, adjustments, configurations, and much more. The default window keeps you informed on all critical settings allowing you to quickly read what you need to while big green level meters clearly inform you when you have a signal and when that signal is clipping. A single rotary control allows you to adjust various parameters such as the 3-band parametric EQ, venue-specific voicing modes, variable crossover settings, alignment delay, and other configuration settings.

The DRM 12A comes housed in a tour-grade plywood cabinet which is perfectly angled so you can create an array set up using multiple 12A speakers. The cabinet is finished with a textured coating as well as a powder coated heavy gauge steel grille that protects the drivers from being damaged. A ported design helps deliver an exceptionally smooth yet punchy low-frequency response while simultaneously pushing cool air towards the internal amplifier. The cabinet is fitted with carrying handles for efficiently transporting the speaker to and from gigs while multiple M10 fly points allow you to suspend the speaker if necessary.
