The APC 64 features 1 MIDI in and 2 MIDI out ports (through tiny TRS jacks) and 8x CV / Gate outputs. The eight touch strips provide continuous control over the Step Sequencer's maximum of 8 tracks, each of which can have 32 steps and 16 notes of polyphony. The included APC Project Editor Software allows you to create a unique layout and save settings for later use.

Classic keyboards, synths, reverb, voice processing, and retro effects are included in the APC 64's collection of Air instruments and Sonivox VST / AU plug-ins. This consists of the Sonivox Essential Keyboard Collection, Half Speed, Flavour, Air Instruments' Tubesynth, Electric, Ether, and Vocal Tuner.
